 About Cambridge and the Region

One of Cambridge's many famous sights, King's College.

Cambridge is an historic university town in a region known as East Anglia, set in the East of England. The city is located 50miles or 80km north of London and is served by comprehensive road (M11, A14), rail (from London and the North) and air (Stansted and Luton Airports) links.

Cambridge itself is small enough to be friendly and yet big enough to have most major facilities. To serve the student population and tourist visitors there is a proliferation of pubs, restaurants and clubs.

If you are a sado-mountain muncher, Cambridge is not for you. It is about as far from big hills that you can get in England, without getting your feet wet! Don't let that put you off though as the region is steeped in history, pretty villages, an excellent minor road network and much more. Of course there is a whole host of pubs and cafes and English tea shops. If one ventures as far as Essex, Hertfordshire or Suffolk, the English Counties south and east of Cambridgeshire, a delightful, classic, rolling English landscape can be found.
