A group of CCCers heading out for a Tuesday evening clubrun. Who said Cambridgeshire is flat? Just look at the slope on that road! |
Experienced cyclists can join our Clubruns or, in the Spring, full-blown training rides. There are also a number of other rides during the week that you can go on if you have the time. A number of club members have been taking part in more and more Audax events, with a some having completed the super randonneure (SR= 200 +300 +400 +600km rides) and SR2000 (SR2000= SR +500km ride) series.
Occasionally, we will go away on cycling weekends or take part other special events. For instance, three members rode through Germany, France and Belgium when they went to see the European total eclipse in 1999. More recently four others went on a mountain biking long weekend in Yorkshire. In 2003 a group of nine CCC members went to ride the Etape du Tour and have an 8-day cycling holiday. In 2004 there are a number of cycling holiday activities.
For those who are keen to have a go at racing, our evening time trials offer the perfect introduction to cycle racing and can enhance fitness. For the more experienced racers, the club has a strong contingent of Road Racers and of Time Trialists. A more recent development is the clubs return to track racing and an upsurge in interest in Cyclocross.
